Asklepios—this is the man who founded the healing center at Epidauros ... as the grandson of Zeus and the son of Apollon, he had special skills that would allow him to diagnose and heal diseases and wounds ... the sanctuary and amphitheatre were constructed to heal the sick or injured and insure good health to all who invoked the divine powers of Asklepios.
