The temple ruins are silhouetted against the sky as you climb the dusty hill from the northeast. The stark, bleached remains are not representative of how the temple once looked. This was a sacred place where Poseidon resided ... the exterior was brightly painted and surrounded by greenery. Climbing to the temple from this direction does not prepare you for the sheer precipice on the other side of the structure.
