I think that this Kore is one of the most remarkable statues in the Acropolis Museum ... she has a look of graceful sadness but the delicate texture of her dress indicate that she was from a family of some wealth or influence ... it can be assumed that this statue was dedicated in one of the temples on the Acropolis to beseech the good graces of the goddess, Athene.
