A city in the domain of Akhilleus (Achilles).
During the Trojan War, Akhilleus commanded the Akhaian soldiers from Pelasgian Argos including the cities of Alos, Trekhis, Alope, and the territories of Hellas and Phthia.
King Peleus, Akhilleus' father, ruled Alos as well as other cities. The soldiers Akhilleus mustered for the siege on Troy were called Myrmidons ... supposedly the most organized and fierce warriors on the battlefield. The number of Myrmidons from Alos at Troy is not known.
