This portion of mythagora.com is a Work in Progress. The maps are displayed but many do not have accompanying text. All entries will eventually have citations to ancient texts and my annotations so please check back regularly to see the updates.

The maps presented here were designed to help you visualize the world as seen by the ancient Greeks. The maps identify places mentioned by Homer and other classical authors, such as Strabo, Herodotos and Hesiod. Wars and natural disasters effected many regions. Some cities—Athens, Sparta, Thebes—survived into modern times; others exist only as archeological ruins, such as Troy, Bessa and Mykenai.
