The Akhaian cities in Lokris commanded by Aias, son of Oileus, included—Bessa, Augeiai, Kalliaros, Kynos, Opoeis, Skarphe, Tarphe, Thronion and the vicinity of the Boagrios River.
The name Bessa means "wooded glen."
