During the Trojan War, the Achaian (Achaean) soldiers from Methone, Meliboia (Meliboea), Olizon, and Thaumakia (Thaumacia) originally were commanded by Philoktetes, but he was bitten by a snake before reaching Troy and replaced by Medon, son of Oileus.
