During the Trojan War, Menelaos, co-commander of the Achaian (Achaean) army, mustered soldiers from the Lakedaimon (Lacedaemon)1 cities of Laas, Amyklai (Amyclae), Augeiai (Augeiae), Bryseiai (Bryseiae), Helos, Messe, Oitylos (Oetylus), Pharis, and Sparta.
