Maiandros River
Meander River

The name of a river and the god of the river.

The Maiandros River flowed westward from Phrygia in Asia Minor and entered the Aigean (Aegean) Sea at the ancient city of Miletos (Miletus); the river was so crooked that we now use the term Meander to mean Wandering.
