Lyrnessos
Lyrnessus

A city near Troy.

During the Trojan War, Achilles raided Lyrnessos and took a woman named Briseis as a slave, killing Briseis' husband and three brothers in the process. Briseis became the crux of the feud between Achilles and Agamemnon, commander-in-chief of the Achaian (Achaean) army. As part of the raid on Lyrnessos, Achilles also stole cattle from Dardanian1 commander Aineias (Aeneas) on Mount Ida.

1. Dardanians—an older but recurrent name for the Trojans derived from King Dardanos, from whom all Trojan kings were descended.
