During the Trojan War, Peneleos and Leitos commanded the Akhaian soldiers from Boiotia. They took fifty ships to Troy with 120 men on each ship for a total of 6,000 men.
Cities in Boiotia that supplied soldiers for the assault on Troy included—Anthedon, Arne, Aulis, Eilesion, Eleon, Erythrai, Eteonos, Eutresis, Glisas, Graia, Haliartos, Harma, Hyle, Hyria, Kopai, Koroneia, Medeon, Mideia, Mykalessos, sacred Nisa, Okalea, holy Onkhestos, Peteon, Plataia, Skhoinos, Skolos, lower Thebes, Thespeia, and Thisbe, the haunt of doves.
