A city on the island of Krete (Crete).
During the Trojan War, Idomeneus, Achaian commander of the Kretans, mustered soldiers from Lyktos, Gortys, Knosos, Lykastos, Miletos, Phaistos, and Rhytion.
In the Iliad, the only Achaian soldier specifically mentioned in relation to Lyktos was Koiranos, the charioteer of Meriones, co-commander of the Kretans.
