The domain of King Peleus, father of Achilles.
At the time of the Trojan War, Pelasgian Argos included the cities of Alope, Trekhis, Alos, and the territories of Hellas and Phthia.
The appellation Pelasgian refers to the prehistorical settlers of the Balkan Peninsula—the Pelasgians. Adding Pelasgian to the name Argos denotes its antiquity and differentiates it from Argos on the Peloponnesian Peninsula.
