A city in Paionia.
Pyraikhmes commanded an undisclosed number of Paionian bowmen as Trojan allies from Amydon and the banks of the Axios River. The geographer Strabo1 stated Amydon was renamed Abydon and subsequently destroyed by the Argeadae, rulers of Makedonia 700–300 BCE.
