During the Trojan War, Nastes and Amphimachos (Amphimachus) commanded an undisclosed number of Karian Trojan allies from Miletos (Miletus), Mount Phthiron (Phthires), the Maiandros (Meander) River, and Mount Mykale (Mycale). The Karians did not speak Greek; they spoke a barbarous language.
