Skyros
Scyrus

A Greek island in the western Aigean (Aegean) Sea; one of the large islands of the Northern Sporades group; Skyros is located off the eastern coast of the island of Euboea.

The other large islands of the Northern Sporades are—Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonissos.

Lamenting the death of his companion Patroklos during the Trojan War, Akhilleus (Achilles) thought of his son Neoptolemos, who was presumably alive and well on the island of Skyros.
